Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

Hmmm. Seems like a throwback. Very much so. Not sure what that means. I mean, I really like DHIADW when it came out the first time.....

I was unimpressed by it. This Godless Endeavor is still miles ahead of it. I had such high hopes too, they chose an awesome name for the album and some riffs in the first song and the leaked title track were awesome. The rest of the album fell flat for me and was just forgettable =/

Listening to it now, and I'm getting those same vibes. It's a very weak throwback, and it's way behind DHiaDW and TGE. Five years, and TOC sounds like a pretty uninspired 45 minutes. It has its moments, but they're always bookended by garbage.

At least Loomis's solo album was excellent...I think I'll listen to that now.

The first and last songs on TOC are probably the 2 strongest on the album. I'm going to give it another listen and see what I think. I do have to say though, what is it with bands putting vocals so high in the mix lately?

Zombie Surf Camp.

They sound like a modern day version of the Misfits with more of a Surf vibe and Zed from Police Academy as a lead singer.

This shouldn't be as awesome as it is. They do some quality covers!

Periphery - Captain On

Finally found it online without having to buy the album AGAIN from iTunes(I pre-ordered the special edition with the instrumental disc). Good to hear something from Misha that I haven't heard before. Pretty mellow track, with some nice heavy chugs at points. Little tapping lead that sounds like something Tosin Abasi would write.

You're not missing out on the game. But I agree with the verdict on the soundtrack!

Np: The Omega Experiment - "Phenom/Gift"

Which is fucking amazing, Dan. Very, very impressive! :D

I was really looking forward to Obsidian Conspiracy, but evidently it isn't what it was promised to be...

Drawn and Quartered- Hail Infernal Darkness.
If only all death metal was like this.

Balmorhea - Rivers Arms

Mixed with the gentle moped-like roar that my laptop's fan is now making.
