Talk about other artists here (even though they all rip off Meshuggah)

I went to Mike Patton & Fennesz last sunday.

It was the first time i saw Mike Patton live and it was amazing!
nothing like anything i heard from him, it was a wall of ambient/noise with Mike singing/screaming and doing his weird vocal effects.
The funniest part was that after about 30 minutes Mike said : thankyou Amsterdam, see you next time! and walked offstage.
then alot of people left and after about 5 minutes they walked back onstage and continued their set

Anneke even had a cold and I don't think I've heard a better live singer. Their set was rather short, so hopefully they'll come back through on a new album and headline.

Got all my cds signed as well, except for Anneke who was resting.

GREAT SHOW! :D :D

Nice!! :D Glad to hear you liked it, although I'm not surprised :P

Anneke has announced her departure from The Gathering. I've never seen them live, although I know them since the Mandylion era. Bummer. :(

On a lighter note: Maiden, In Flames, Papa Roach (meh), Mastodon and Lauren Harris on Friday! My first time seeing In Flames (hope they play some Fredrik Nordström era material) and Mastodon. I could do without Papa Roach though.

I have to say I was rather shocked at first. But now having thought about it, maybe it's not so bad. The Gathering will continue doing their own thing, and Anneke will continue doing her thing with Agua de Annique (Anneke's fluids? :?). The song on the MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/aguadeannique) sounds quite good :)

last band i saw live was The Australian Pink Floyd at the UEA , Norwich , England , and yet again , they blew me away , with a screen at the back of the stage projecting all kindsa weird shit , and green n blue lasers around the venue , playing such classics as Sheep , Another Brick In The Wall , Comfortably Numb , and finishing with the explosive climax that is Run Like Hell.
Now , if ya never seen these guys perform before , DO , cos they are amazing , normally a 3 hour set.
And if ya can't make it to a show , i fully recommend buying the 2 disc dvd set from their website http://www.aussiefloyd.com.

Last weekend Rock am Ring, the biggest german Rockfestival, happened.
I saw many good bands there (Billy Talent, Killswitch, Type `O Negative, Stone Sour; Funeral for a friend; Lamb of God etc.), but two of them really impressed me:

1st: MUSE

I knew about three songs before the concert, but after it they had a new fan. WOW. Fantastic performance, great vocals, super sound and a killer light-show. Just amazing.

2nd: Machine Head

It was just a KILLER-SHOW. `nuff said. I´m really looking forward to their next European-tour.

Cool, I've never heard anything from that collaboration, though I've seen Patton about eight times now. AN incredible performer, is he...

I saw Skinny Puppy last night. They were FUCKED UP. Not my favorite type of music (my wife likes them), but it was a pretty good show nonetheless.

Die Ärzte obviously ruled - again. I've seen some segments of their show on YouTube, and they delivered their brand of cheezily infantile entertainment once again in a great manner. I also watched the live stream of the Slayer show and Dave Lombardo SMOKED! Velvet Revolver are not my thing but they sounded pretty good, but were not too well received by the Rock Am Ring kiddy-crowd.

Oh yes, Maiden, In Flames, Papa Roach, Mastodon and Lauren Harris in Ludwigshafen last Friday was good, but overall I've seen much better shows. In Flames' sound was horrible and Bruce Dickinson had feedback problems, Mastodon were not well received, Papa Roach are absolutely not my thing - and Lauren Harris was damn hot!

I'm soooo jealous...I would have loved to see that performance! They only showed 'Starlight' on MTV and that looked and sounded so awesome! Apparently it won't ever be shown on German TV because they recorded it exclusively for some British Pay TV Channel according to the Rockpalast dudes....I don't know if it's possible but if anyone knows when it will be shown there and has the ability to record it, I'd seriously owe you a handjob! :D

Huge let down that Anneke is no longer going to be in The Gathering.

I really like the Aque de Annique song, and I know that The Gathering will find a great singer to take over.
