Acumen Nation and Frontline Assembly, along with some local band called Tranquilotwist.

Tranquilotwist rather sucked.

Acumen Nation kicked copious amounts of ass, and I bought their new album "Anticore," which rules.

FLA was okay. Not nearly as good as Acumen Nation though.

Just saw The Gathering on Saturday! It was part of the "Hottest Chicks in Metal" tour. It was my first time seeing them and they were amazing! Anneke even had a cold and I don't think I've heard a better live singer. Their set was rather short, so hopefully they'll come back through on a new album and headline.

Got all my cds signed as well, except for Anneke who was resting.

GREAT SHOW! :D :D

I recently saw Dragonforce. Well, what can I say...it was different. haha!!
It was the first time I saw them and I enjoyed the show for the time I had there, for you see I had a chest infection and couldn't breath with all the smokers around, so I had to leave the gig early and take my medication. :(

Still, from what I saw I know now why everyone likes them so much...just the energy they bring to the stage is overwhelming. Im not that heavily into them I just thought i'd tag along with a mate too see what all the fuss is about.

I was also surprised with the outcome of people who went, not all were into metal some even didn't know who Slayer were when they got played on the PA system before the show started. hahaha!! But all that aside, it's good to see a genre of music bringing in new fans...sure, the music is mostly epic power metal wankery...but it's great. I love my power metal, but i'd rather stick to my contemporary bands such as Blind Guardian, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Grave Digger, Celesty, Persuader, Iced Earth, Black Majesty, Edguy, Therion etc, etc.

Saw 2 Nin shows last. Sunday show was good but there were lots of tech difficulties and trent was really pissed off. Tuesdays gig was real awesome coz they played a full show, no difficulties at all.

I went and saw GWAR! NAd my verdict is the same about them as always.......they are the best live plain and simple! No body beats a GWAR show, even though some will dissagree.

I think she sounds great on the DVD, but I can definitely see where you are coming from. On the DVD, it seemed she had to strain a bit to hit some notes where she didn't at all when I saw them live (despite having a cold). She is probably hands down one of the best live singers I have ever heard.
