I am a big fan of Metallica, since I was 12 (1993) and since 2002 I've been devoted to Devin's music. Both have helped me through the rough times and I consider them the soundtrack of my life, so when I heard the IR8 demos I was blown away. Sadly, it didn't go anywhere (in terms of a record, since I read that Physicist was basically Jason, Hoglan and Devy).

My question is, are Dev and Jason still in good terms?
Since Jason is not in a band right now, why don't they get together and jam?

I assume they had differences during the past otherwise the story behing Physicist would be different.

I'm just being curious, I really hope it doesnt come out as being nosy or anything.
Hopefully there's no problem between them, I'd love to hear Jason doing something with Devy someday. Both have a different approach to music nowadays and I'm sure it'd be interesting...

Does anybody know anything about this topic?

Jedbangers: Are we going to ever see what TREE OF THE SUN (Devin's project with former METALLICA bassist Jason Newsted, Scott Reeder and Dale Crover) sounds like? What memories do you have of working with Jason and Scott?

Devin: I'm sure someone somewhere will find a copy of that...I really liked those two guys; Scott was really cool from what I remember. The relationship with Jason was nice but ended strangely. I had never done acid before, and we did it at his house and I tripped pretty hard and started acting pretty strange with him...I think he's a pretty "straightforward" guy, and I think I freaked him out pretty hard. It was really fucking weird... For several years he was in my life, and then overnight, I never heard from him again. I hope he's well.

Funny that an argentinean magazine had asked what a chilean dude wanted to know, I guess we love the idea of a superband with our favorite musicians...

So, drugs... bad for your healt AND your music.
But, Devy is such a nice fellow now! How can you not like him?!
