Future for Devin Townsend

I've been having these weird thoughts.
What is Devin going to do after ?
I mean the DTP cycle is almost complete.
I know he talked about Z2 but Devin said that after Deconstruction, He and his demons will be allies.
I've been waiting for Decon for a long time, as a follow-up to Alien in some sort of way (which was somewhat of a follow-up to City but instead of giving a big middle finger at everyone else, it was more of a big middle finger at the ''narrator's'' existence as a whole). I think it's going to answer every questions.
I seriously think that either Devin's job on earth will be done and he'll be taken back to the planet he came from (Far from across the omniverse) or that his humanity will transcend into something beyond it. I think Devin is going to become a God.

This is a weird feeling I'm having.

I feel exactly the opposite. I think The DTP is a new beginning, and Dev's most amazing work is yet to come. I'd bet the house on it. I just have this feeling deep down in my bones that we ain't seen nothin' yet.

This planet is definitely not done with The Dev.

He'll probably just put out a load more albums under his own name instead of THe Devin Townsend Band/Project, or SYL, or Ocean Machine, etc.

I think he's going to lose his shit and think Punky Bruster IS his band and sell millions churning out punk records.

Seconded. I hope that Devin is not done after the Project is complete, because I feel like he still has so much to give.

But then again, I've never liked to speculate these kind of things. Especially since we've yet to hear Ghost and Deconstruction.

This guy's FAR from done. As others have said, he's just getting started. Obviously he's digging being 'clean' now, and kudos to him. His style is definitely taking a turn, not for the better nor the worse, just different that's all. One thing you can be sure of, whatever he knocks out from now on, is that it'll be of a very high standard and quality, regardless of genre. I can't wait to read the comments when he starts making some techno-dancey stuff.

Or light opera perhaps? 'The Pirates of Penzance' by Ziltoid and Skulletman? In all seriousness, I suspect Dev could do a very good opera.

I hope he at one point tries out dubstep. That shit would be brutal. Or supertranquil.

I'd love to hear Dev tackle some jungle.
Maybe something with some ill bass like this.

This is also a big mega. Fans of Father Ted will know it.

Don't get me wrong I'm sure Devin hasn't even done 3% of the music he can do.
I just think that it's the end of an era of ''darkness'' and a new one will begin but I just have a feeling that Devi

Or morbidly unoriginal. As much as I like wobbles: everybody and their dog plays dubstep now and to that everyone does that in similiar manner (otherwise it doesn't sound like dubstep much - and who wants undubstepy dubstep?).

Personally, I won't even try to guess, I'll just be waiting here and observe. Dev seems to be kind of person who can't sit on his ass for an hour without thinking what to create next, so he'll surely serve something interesting after a while.
