Is a venue upgrade likely in London??

I missed the Pre-sale for London tour date and the news saying that the tickets for the tour would go on sale today had my hopes up. Alas there are no more tickets, it seems that a venue upgrade might be a good idea considering the London show is sold out already (and has been for a while now) and Islington academy has a capacity of 800 (tiny!). Is this likely?

I'm with you on this, I know DTP is the best, but sold out in a week or so is total absolute BALLS!

I'm hoping they can fix this!! Otherwise a darn train ride may be in order.

God I hope this happens. Had to wait 'til I got paid before I could buy tickets, only to find they'd already sold out. I've never seen Dev before and doubt I'd be able to get to any of the other shows... :(

It sold out in the pre-sale I think. I missed the pre-sale by one day and couldn't get a ticket, I know why now due to the venue capacity :(

The Manchester gig has apparently been upgraded due to massive demand... so you never know, I s'pose!

It depends on the venue. I mean, I think they're running on a pretty tight schedule, and if a larger venue is available on that day, then they could upgrade.

I think it would most likely have to be done in advance, not on the day :s

Who would we harass to get an answer about this? The venue?

Travel to one of the others will be an expensive bugger (especially for non-drivers). Getting their ain't much a prob, but getting back on the same day is another matter. Damn our crappy train system.

At least you don't have to contemplate flying to another country. Quit yo' complainin'!

Flying  That's what you get for living in a shitey unknown place like ireland(?) .

Actually it's more annoying than that because it's somewhat down the road, so it should be easy. If I had to fly at least you'd know more and could plan well. Here it seems anywhere a couple hours drive outside of London for an evening and everything stops working and becomes traffic and hassle .

Speaking of flying... *checks flight costs* 8)

I read somewhere also that someone is going to several of devs shows in different countries, now that is a true fan and dedication :D

I can honestly say that I have never been more devastated about anything in my life! I too missed the pre-sale tickets only to discover that all the tickets were released on pre-sale and, of course, sold out straight away as the venue is smaller than...well.. something very small. The London venue has got to be one of the smallest venues of his entire tour! 800 people is so tiny, I just don't understand the logic behind why they would choose such a small venue in the biggest city in the whole of the UK. There are bound to be more people in London that like Devin than anywhere else in the country yet the London venue is the smallest. I DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!! Also other small venues like in Manchester and Southampton have been upgraded already, why not upgrade London?!?!

My boyfriend and I have been a little in love with Devin for a long time but have never got the chance to see him. We're from Newcastle (Devin isn't playing there) but are living in London at the mo so were like fuck yeah, we'll be able to see loads of cool bands in London! But it seems we have probably missed out on this, the mother of all gigs :'( I have been crying myself to sleep on a nightly basis lol.

We would venture up to Manchester (used to live there too!) but the boyf is in his last year of uni so will be shitting essays and dissertations out his arse in March so no time for travels up north. Alas it seems we are destined to miss Devin this time around. We are gunna try and buy tickets from a tout on the night becasuse we are so desperate to go, god knows how much they'll be charging though!

Devin, if you're out there...please please PLEASE upgrade your venue in London to something a little more appropriately sized! There's no reason not to, you'll sell a shit load more tickets, make a shit load more money and make little old me eternally grateful!

I Look forward to the day Devin Townsend rules the world!

I doubt it's his call.
