Hey Dev,
I’m still just sitting here and reflecting on a great evening with you at the Seattle show. Maybe as the experience sits fresh, you can remember the guy who sat on the floor in front of you at the VIP meet, who requested Noisy Pink Bubbles, whose shoes were signed by you. My name is Anthony, and I teach English over in Korea. I’m currently back and taking a short tour de America to see family. We’re all from Seattle, but we’re relocated across the country now due to the very normal circumstances wrought by living and creating one’s personal version of life. We’re still very close, but now we need airplanes to see each other.
I wanted to make sure that I got to Seattle in time for your show. I know nothing of the quantity or frequency of fan mail you receive, and of what most of your fans have to say of you. And so dropping you a note to tell you of the importance of your existence here as a musician and a person to me is decidedly difficult, and in some respects trite and unremarkable even to myself, and even as I write this. I will only say that I’m glad to have your input as a creator of music available to me, at least while I’m renting time here on this rock. Your music, and as far as I can tell in my capacity of being only a fan, your personality and methodology towards life, is comforting and highly edifying to me as another person who is making his way through. You’re just a rad person, and even more a person who reflects values that technically can be communicated, but need only serve you and yours in their necessity. But I’m sure many fans notice, and it does (wholly) positive things for their lives, many times unrelated to music.
I'm returning to Korea soon, but it's important for me to drop this message to offer you good luck, and remind you that you are doing great. You’re likely rolling on more cylinders than you ever have in your life in varying aspects, and as someone who’s noticed, it does great things for me on a personal level towards my own life, allowing me to work towards my own deep peace (shwing) in a calmer mental environment. Thank you Thank you Thank you, and good luck with all things both immediate and beyond. Much love my friend.
Anthony
Oh anddddd
(You and the guys had a few technical problems, and unfortunately a few fans decided to pounce on this opportunity to complain or sneak in some snide comment. I wanted to write this too to assure you that the overwhelming mass of fans at the show were in no way associated with that. You rocked, the fucking house. Everyone felt it, and everyone knew it. Great call on the song selection, and with what song you'd end the show with; the latter was an experience that as it happened, I knew I’d never forget. Thanks for creating the memory Dev. ;D You're doing awesome. Thank you.
