A little late notice, but it seems Devin Townsend has taken over Triple J tonight as Andrew Haug is currently in Indonesia on holiday. Devin's shared some hilarious stories (great one about Steve Vai back in 94') and Ziltoid made a surprise visit before. The show is still going, but will finish at midnight (AEST). THIS FUCKING RULES! Why didn't he tell us?!?!?!? Is he doing it from his house or what?

It was a really entertaining show, with a really nice playlist. Lots of variety. Dev made for a really great DJ after the first segment or two (Seemed rusty/nervous or something) and he eased into a really great humorous 'groove' (For want of a better word).

Only complaint was the excessive and incorrect use of the word ironic. So if that's the only bad thing, it must have been pretty sweet.

Is there an archive or recording of this show? I'd like to hear it.

Ha, I forgot I did that... I taped it when we toured down there.

And I mean ironic strictly in the All-anus Morrissette way

haha! I was just about to drop my girlfriend home in the car when that came on and surprised both of us. She has curly hair and we heard "AAAAAAAAAA!!! This is Devin Townsend....So....What are you doin?...looking into each others eyes?...Stroking each others Curly hair?" um...yes actually. DEVIN GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

Not sure that's the kind of curly hair he was talking about...

They don't seem to offer an Mp3 download of the show on the site unfortunately, so unless you have some other tricky way of capturing streamed audio, you'll just have to settle for the stream while it lasts!

When you mentioned Nergal being taken to court I then realised it was a recording and not live. It was still very entertaining though. Nice work Dev.

is very enjoyable indeed, he's just put on creeping death. would have loved to have heard it on the radio though. Can't wait for another Dev tour over here.

In the next couple of days they'll have a stream of the recording available on http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/racket/mod_windows/fullmetal.asx, except it's still last week's show at this stage. If you have a program that can record streams, I think that's the only way you'll be able to get a copy for yourself.
