i need to ask everybody on the forum to petition emails to hevydevy records to try get the devin townsend band or syl to play ireland!!!! i know they both played before but for undisclosed reasons devin said he wont go back! he has a great fanbase here adn truly missing out on a great time!!! support the irish fans!!! please help!!!

I don't think a petition will do anything.

I don't think you need to worry. Most bands play at least one Ireland date on a UK tour, mostly in Dublin. SYL have done it a few times since i've been aware of them and so there's nothing stopping them doing it again in due course. DTB would probably follow the trend.

Expect to see Dev faster than you'd have thought with all these looming tours.

the last time dev played in ireland, there were only about 100 people at the show cos steve vai was playing across town on the same night.

The reason is two times they were victims of crime there. Mike Young was mugged the last time. I think that is a valid reason.

I'd love if either SYL or DTB came back here at some stage. I've missed the previous gigs they've played here.

Of course, I would be working that week and completely unable to get out of it.

Roll on London in a few months though! At least Ireland is so proximal to the UK!
