HEY DEV! Thanks for signing a sick fan's essay!

Hope Devin sees this, cause I wanted to thank him for signing and reading part of an essay I wrote about the visual dilemmas and illusions in the Deconstruction album cover. I was going to see him at both the Toronto and St. Catharines shows, but unfortunately I got sick with cranial bleeding and had to be in the hospital for nearly a month :( , so I couldn't go to either show. But I have some amazing friends who went to the show and after enjoying the experience got the essay signed by the man himself! They also got a short clip of him reading the first page of the essay, before he realized it was too late in the evening to be comprehending philosophy :P I wanted to upload a pic of me with the essay, but for some reason it says the board attachment quota has been reached :( . oh well. Hopefully Dev remembers this and maybe got a chance to read the rest of the essay (I made sure he got a second copy for himself, hehe). I'd love to hear his thoughts about the essay and maybe what gave him the idea for such an insane album cover (if he designed it). If anyone else is interested in seeing the essay, I can PM it :D

I don't post here much, but I'm a long time lurker and am really grateful Devin took the time to look at the essay (I created another account on here to see if the quota thing would change, but I guess not, damn.) Anyway, I'm all better now, but I'm really bummed I missed those shows. Toronto got the best damn setlist of the tour, imo, aside from the album shows. Oh well, next time, I'm there!

Thanks again Devin!

The album cover is a reworking of one of the artist's other works called "Gift from The Heart:"

I'd love to hear how it went from that to the 'Deconstruction' cover art. Hopefully Dev gets a chance to see this and answer! :)

Hey, glad to hear you're good. :)

Have you tried using a hosting site like flickr or photobucket?
The Forum database doesn't accept direct uploads.

You're probably best asking Travis Smith. He posts all over the place, and is a really nice guy.

Ah fuck. It doesn't really look like his stuff, but I guess I'm just used to him doing all of Devin's covers, so just assumed. DUH!

Oh that's so cool! Damn, I was hoping that the breast-eyes were Devin's idea :( guess not. The Decon cover still rocks! here's the pic on flickr. I miss my long hair :(

Here's the picture http://www.flickr.com/photos/38231145@N06/ I also got an email from one of my professors who found out I was in the hospital and listened to Decon in my honour :P She loved the philosophical ideas it brought up but had a little bit of a hard time getting past the hevyness haha.
