"Doing some remastering of older songs for Century Media. MAN, lots of my older records sound bad... it's like nice demos. Future records ftw"

I wonder if he is talking about some of his older albums? If he is, I will wait until the remasters come out to buy them

i don't see why he would. and they already had a free sampler of 1 song from most of his solo albums when he opened for btbam.

the only Dev albums that have lackluster production are Ocean Machine, HAARHT, Punky Brüster, and Physicist — and most of them would have to be fixed in the mixing stage, not remastered. with so many of the original tapes soggy from The Great Flood™, idk how possible that'd be.

tl;dr version: remastering won't help those albums sound like his others ;)

A video game asked us if they could use 'Fucker' from SYL with no vocals...

So I rerecorded it and remixed it with guitar instead of vocals, and it sounds great!!!

Just finishing the mix tonight.

...maybe I'll call it 'Hugger'

I love that song! Even the vocals/lyrics. It reminds me of the late 80's, early 90's and Tipper Gore's attempts at music censorship. Everyone started just throwing 'fuck' into all their songs, for no other reason but to protest it all. Bands with members that probably never even cursed in their day to day life were suddenly dropping f-bombs on their albums. It was a goofy time.

I remember lying in bed one night listening to Notes from Africa with my iPod on my Devy playlist (on shuffle mind you). I was drifting off into an intense sleep to the rainforest ambiance at the end of the song, and then Fucker came on right afterwards. It was uncanny how amazing it fit together, despite scaring the shit out of me.

Haha and the same thing happened last night while listening to Terria. Earth Day may have woken me up, but it's still one of my favorite songs of all time
