"Canadian musician/producer Devin Townsend (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STEVE VAI, LAMB OF GOD, DARKEST HOUR, GWAR) has confirmed via Twitter that he will tour the U.S. with CHILDREN OF BODOM in June.

Townsend has announced the first two special shows in U.K. for November 2011 for a unique DVD recording.

In June 2011 the world will be struck by two new releases from Townsend. The albums entitled "Deconstruction" and "Ghost" will complete his tetralogy album concept — a great journey through Devin's different states of musical moods — which he started in 2009 with the albums "Addicted" (2009) and "Ki" (2009).

On his currently ongoing and mostly sold-out European tour, Devin is already performing some of the new material and if you have followed Devin through his career, you will know that he is always up for pushing the limits to higher levels. After finishing the tour at the end of March, and after releasing "Deconstruction" and "Ghost" in June, Devin Townsend will return to London U.K. in November 2011 to play a set of very special shows dedicated to his four-album concept and which will be captured live on DVD!"

I think Children of Boredom are a fucking weird choice to play with Dev but there ya go...

Whelp, not too fond of that choice, but what can you do. Depending on ticket prices, I might just go for Dev and take off before Bodom goes on.

best thing will be if you get 4 beers, in between some cigs outside while COB play and then ye go back in headbanging to Downfall.

Children of Bodom suck so hard. So glad they didn't play in the UK with Devin.

This.

It's smart of Dev's management, though. CoB kiddies are impressionable and will take to his animated self on stage.

Disappointing.

I'm pretty sure Dev'll be direct support and it's deconstruction material. If you can justify that on your conscience ;)

Just kiddin' man, different strokes for different folks... though I do remember really loving Follow the Reaper when I was 16. I'm getting to be an old man now.

Damn it!!! June is looking to be a hectic month for me, and my financial situation is uncertain for a the rest of the year. I hope I can work something out, but it is going to be damned tough, I'm sure.

Children of Bodom were great fun to watch at Bloodstock '10. Proper nostalgia trip, reminded me of being 15 years old.

If he headlines, the price is right, and if it's not at the Opera House, i'm all over it...

His 2010 show in Toronto was fucking amazing... I was blown away by his performance and the sound quality.
