He told us in the live chat.

I wasn't online when that happened. I was consoling friends over a recent drug overdose death instead. Woo hoo!

Is there a transcript somewhere? 30 minutes is a little disappointing but I already got my tickets and I'm still looking forward to it.

He's also said this tour is a building block. Dude has some stuff to prove to promoters before getting that headlining tour over here. So here's hoping he doesn't get screwed too badly by "fans" who can afford the $16.00 perfectly well and have no issue driving an hour to the venue but won't do it because the setlist isn't exactly what they want. It's always interesting to me how people will complain their favorite band doesn't get headlining stadium tours then opt out to the point that maybe 6 people actually hit the floor on those smaller gigs where the group needs to establish their name.

I'm going to this show! I'm driving over 4 hours to see this. There's no way I'm going to miss it. I'd still like to see a longer set. Maybe 45 to 60 minutes long but I'll take what I can get. I still don't see how Cynic gets billed above Townsend. Cynic only has like 2 albums. I could see them having a 30 minute set. Not to diss Cynic because I'm listening to their latest album now and I'm enjoying it. It just seems odd.

If I can see Color Your World/The Greys and Supercrush then I'll be a happy camper.

Because their fans (two of my best friends are among them, mind you) are like this:

"Oh my god, how can you even ask this, they are legends and are among the most well respected musicians in the metal scene. Have you even listened to Traced in Air?"

Apparently 15 year hiatuses overtake 4 year touring hiatuses.

No, I know I was just trying to say we're not the only obscure fanatical fanbase out there ;)

I plan on going to the Charleston show and the Charolette show and I hope to get to the Atlanta show as well. I really really hope Dev plays a long set. If not then at least I'll see him more then once!

Would it be bad to wear my shirt that is just Devin's face on it? Haha I plan on wearing that and my strapping shirt to the shows, assuming i go to the ones i want to go to.

As far as shirt protocol goes, I've honestly had a better time at gigs when clad in corresponding merch. For instance, my City longsleeve faded to grey and wafer thin with probable blood stains and definite wear holes scored me "niiiice"s and served as lead in to some lovely conversations with fellow travellers at Strapping shows. However, wearing Zimmer's Bound by Fire era merch lead to a fair number of people getting testy because I "falsely advertised" membership in Strapping's crew by even having such things while knowing nothing beyond the press release contents.

I was planning on driving to Chicago to see DTP but 12 hours round trip, $60 in gas plus hotel for a 30 minute set is just over the line for my fanatical tendencies. I totally would have made the drive if it was a headline or even a co-headline.

Hope to see you near St. Louis soon, guys!
