The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

Yeah. Now I remember why I worked out the old "guestlist me then I'll spend the equivalent of ticket cost on merch" deal. TIckets for Boston are $17.00. To print the tickets myself and avoid my mailmain giving em away out of anger with the landlord's mailbox layout, I was looking at $12.50 in service fees.
On the bright side... I can now confirm that the House of Blues Boston's partner box office in the Orpheum Theater waives all fees. If anyone is thinking of headed out here for that gig but wants to avoid being reamed by TM, PM me.

I have never seen Devin or SYL live... but I'm ticketed for the San Diego show. I bought two tickets but I'm seriously thinking I'm not going to take my fiance. She is so *not* into metal. She's not opposed to it and in fact enjoys some Devin Townsend songs... but I don't know if she would enjoy Cynic, BTBAM, or STS. So, yeah. I need to find someone who wants to go. But, I'll be there, regardless.

On that note, I'd love to meet Devin and anyone from the band... however, I don't want to be annoying or anything. Is there an etiquette for that sort of thing? Like, if I saw Ryan or Brian watching the show in the crowd, is it cool to come up and say hi and gush for about 20 seconds over how amazing their music is? Or, is it better to give them space? Along with that, do they hang in the crowd or outside the club before or after?

Long time no see, gurp :)

And I think they're all cool, down to earth people. They're normal guys who realise that they need your support to be able to do what they're doing. And they appreciate you for that as much as you appreciate them for their music. So as long as the fans are not queueing up, getting touchy-feely, invasive or annoying in general, they don't mind at all and might even enjoy the attention.

Welllll maybe it's a bit... stupid presenting this as fact since I don't know any of them personally :P But RVP said several times on his forums (and maybe here too) to come look him up before/after the show, and I think Beav and Dave share that sentiment. Or maybe he's just trying to score free beers

You're pretty accurate. I've met most of the musicians Dev has taken out on tour the past several years. They're always courteous, polite, and appreciate those who invest the time and effort to come out and see them. I've had those awkward "OMG THIS IS THE SHOW I'VE BEEN DYING TO SEE SINCE I GOT THE JAPANESE PROMO OF BIOMECH" moments as well as the "Hey, brother. Let's sit down over a burger and discuss life" ones like I would with pretty much any of the peeps I meet at shows.
Just be polite and don't follow them into the bathroom.

I do! I was there for that action and it was fucking awsome madness! The only thing that sucked was security trying to kick people out for moshing. a little retarded considering the METAL-MAGIC being made live. EL corazon is pretty lame these days. The staff arent really friendly at all and they just make you feel like an ass-clown anytime they can. I pray that Dev comes to seattle soon, and hopefully finds a different venue this time around, something a little more, dare I say, INTIMATE?!?!?!?!?!? but El corazon seems to be the only venue he hits up in these parts :(

I like Cynic and Scale the Summit... But... BTBAM... Just can't get into it.
Maybe when I see them live my opinion will change.

They are amazing live
