I can never find the parking on the street, believe me, I look. But then again, I usually arrive at door time, so that's probably why.
I went to see Cave In at the middle east 2 hours before doors. It was a very boring 2 hours waiting

From Ye Olde Rumor Mille in Worcester: Rumor has it that the Rock & Shock people are working on getting Danzig to headline this year, which would make DTP the main support (although technically Danzig would do two sets: a Danzig set plus a Samhain reunion/Misfits set). It's just a rumor at this point, but makes sense given that A) the show's been announced but there isn't even a hint of an on-sale date for tickets, indicating that they're in talks with a big act but haven't quite closed escrow, B) Danzig is doing only three or four dates on their Legacy tour in October and has ample space to schedule another one on 14 OCT, C) Danzig/Samhain/Misfits is a good fit for the theme of the Rock & Shock festival, what with the whole halloween-y thing, and D) GWAR is busy and the Insane Clown Posse never headlines on the metal night, for obvious reasons.

actually Gwar is headlining there on the 21st, so that's a week off from Rock and Shock.
Jerry Only's Misfits will be playing in Danvers Mass on the 16th, so they won't be playing consdidering it wouldn't make sense for them to play 2 Mass shows, plus he's booked the prior 2 days.
The Danzig thing could work, but I guess I share the same opinion as others, rather see Dev headline.

I kinda knew it would end up Dev opening. guess I'll have to wait for the New York "surprise"

Devin is going to be playing at a venue that fits only 250 people in Columbus. Does anyone know if he will be playing a normal setlist or something else? That's a pretty small place compared to the other venues he is going to be playing at during this tour.

if he's headlining, then he's headlining. The Hartford date last year was pretty small and that didn't stop him from unleashing the same length set he did in other places, if anything the smalled venue was more fun, in your face, intimate

Mushroomhead is also playing the first night of rock and shock with:, Psychostick, Motograter, Blue Felix, VentanA, and Tenafly Viper along with Devin. My guess is that Devin will play 45 mins-1 hour depending on who else is announced last rock and shock i went to at the palladium, headliner got 1.5 hrs (type o negative), misfits got an hour, st. vitus got 45 (all three where headlining separate tours, except for God Dethroned even though they were headlining their own tour they got 35 mins, same as the band that opened for them, it might have been because they weren't "known enough" to actually be considered a headliner at the fest. Rest of the bands got 35-35 mins i believe.

Yeah that's too bad, but really, is The Machine Shop in Flint any better? Personally I don't think so.

I may or may not go to this since the Detroit date is on a Tuesday so I may be busy.....

I like The Machine Shop, actually. Its kinda small, but its a cool little venue with good sound. Harpo's is just rundown and has the worst management ever. I've never been to a show there that didn't have 5+ local bands booked. Exodus had to cut their set early because the fucking local bands took so god damn long.

The Machine Shop is cool. Good atmosphere, plenty of parking. Devin put on an awesome show there last tour. Harpo's is a dump and in an awful area of Detroit. No comparison, in my opinion.

But, Colorado Springs and Denver dates this time for me!

Psychostick kicks ass live. My friend's band opened up for them here in Georgia, it was great. They've got great energy, and surprised us with a cover of Danger Zone, from Top Gun. It was sick.

I got really excited when I saw that Dev and Psychostick would be playing together. Saw them at a club in Providence, they put on a kick ASS live show. One of the tightest bands I've ever seen. Am I the only one not really interested in the rest of the lineup?

I think we're going to find the majority of this board really just wants to see Dev.
Maybe if it were Mushroomhead with Jason Popson I'd be a little more "hey let's stick around and see these guys" Other wise it's 4 more bands than I care to see. PLUS on top of all those bands, they have local openers playing the show. Not to be a jerk, but I'm not to knowledgeable on the local scene, so it's hard for me to care.

There are plenty of exciting local bands worth seeing. Problem with Palladium gigs is the promoter very rarely books those. He has a reputation for nepotism and scene loyalty taking priority over anything else. It's happened that bands find out the perfect tour for them is coming through, are informed there will be no openers, then stand in the audience watching a god awful metalcore band fall flat with a prog or doom crowd.
