Anyway, thanks for the EP Dev, it was worth the wait (not sure if it was worth checking Century Media's site 3-4 times an hour for a week though  ).

Wow these songs are great. They sound really tight even if it was their first tour. I truly hate to say it but for Devin's standards the setlist is pretty weak with Supercrush and By Your Command being top notch tracks but the rest falling a little off. Of course Devin has a huge range of music and since everyone has their own favorites I would have rather seen something else besides Truth and OM.

I have listened to this EP many times today. I agree, Shredi Knight, that it sucked checking out the Century Media website 3-4 times an hour for the last week (I was doing the same thing). But this will definitely tide me over till the major releases come out. I think 'Kingdom' by the DTP live actually sounds 10 times better than the studio version on Physicist! Dev's vocals soar to insane heights without the harshness of screaming. Amazing.

I have also been thinking of doing an album cover for this, but I've actually altered the metadata on all these tracks in iTunes so that the other 2 tracks Dev released the other day (Terminal & Drench) can be part of the EP. They actually work beautifully on the end of the live tracks (Terminal followed by Drench). So, I'll try and put something together sooner or later that covers their inclusion too.

It occurred to me that 'Drench' is actually the first piece of genuinely new material that has been released since Addicted came out late 2009! Wow, it's been that long! Cannot fucking wait for the new albums. And the live albums. What a year it will be!!

Thanks Dev, Brett, IOM and CM for making this happen :guitar:

Listening to the EP made me once again realize that "Supercrush" is just a killer spine tingler of a song. Even from the "nibz" tracking video, you already knew it was going to be great.

I'm so glad I went to a full show of real fans instead of a short set with a bad crowd.

...and even with that I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to have to follow Devy on stage.

Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinions, but you do know that Truth is like Dev's favorite song that he's done, right?

Yes, I am aware of that. :)

Only that I think if he is an opening act he should put out his most strongest of songs for the crowd. Only 25-30 mins and 80% of them probably don't even know who he is.

Strongest is relative, I mean I get what you're saying, I just completely disagree.

The very opening act on the bill was an instrumental band, he did two instrumentals. He opened with Disruptr, which while isn't on the EP, means that he did a song from each of his last 3 albums, he completely reworked Kingdom, which was in my eyes a massive win. He performed his favorite song, which is definitely one of MY favorites, and OM was just a nice little 2 minute surprise.

Dude has a vast catalogue, so what's stronger for some, will not be stronger for others, but I don't think he could've done much else in 30 minutes. Are you suggesting he play only singles? You said yourself 80% of the people don't know who he is, what difference would it make?
