I was there in 2003 at the HiFi, It was the Best metal gig i've EVER been to hands down. I was RIGHT UP the front the whole gig. Dev was sick and had a bit of a cold, and he had a bushmans booger at one point that went from his nose down to the ground, funniest thing i've ever seen. Also i remember a dude jumping on stage and taking a photo of him and dev before jumping back into the crowd. i met him after the show and he had lost his camera! poor bastard. Anyways, i went to the bar with a mate after the show we hanged around for ages and Byron came out, we chatted for a while, this was just around the time he joined fearfactory and he was saying Dino was an ass. I was extremely drunk after a while, and Dev himself comes out. I bought 4 bourbons and went straight up to offer him a drink, "I dont drink man, got any weed?" i went on to explain to him i smoked the biggest doob before the show, i asked him about Vai coz i heard he was doing a track with him on the new DTB album. we chatted for a bit "dude, you got any weed?" i think he asked me about 10 times, i had to explain to him that i didnt have any weed every time, which saddened me coz it might of meant that i could have gotten backstage. After more time passed, he was swarmed with all the people that where there, so i stood next to him like a drunk idiot for the most part. after he left, back to the bar, and Bryon was talking to some really hot chick, me and my mate where joking that byron was gonna get laid that night, He heard me joke and laugh about it, and i think to this day i still shit myself when i remember the stare he gave me, it was like, "i'm gonna kill you, then eat you" so me and my mate left. We went to deviate and they played SYL songs all night. i woke up with the most well deserved whiplash and hangover.

Basically i'm saying this story, Coz well, Dev has been to australia 3 times (correct me if i'm wrong) 2 of which i've seen.

The terria Tour gig that was at the corner, i remember being in the bathroom and this guy was crying explaining how if it wasnt for Dev, he would have killed himself. His parents where dead, all this horrible stuff had happened to him. But Devs Music really lifted him. I dont think you would EVER go to metal gig, and hear someone talk about things like that with such emotion and meaning in their lives.

Australia Loves the Dev so much, he has touched many people here, Cant wait to see him again in march!! the FORUM would be amazing if it happend!!

sorry if theres some thread thats like "remember your best gig" or whatever, i thought it was appropriate to share the immensity that is an "australian" gig to add to the persuasion

yeah man it was a wicked gig!! they played SYL stuff as well, a dev set, then a SYL set, it was soooooooooo Hot and it was a few days before sept 11 2001, crazy times. i missed the carcass gig!!!

Yeah that show was IN-SANE. It was SO loud it put my centre of gravity off and I fely queasy as for the entire show. The heat and the fact that they seemed to cram over a thousand people into the 900 capacity Corner didn't help, but anyway it was an unbelieveable show, one of the best I've been to.

BTBAM are touring Oz in March. I wonder if Dev is on the same bill same as the US shows. Hope not. I think Dev is bigger than BTBAM in Oz and deserves to headline.

Wow, im thinking Devs live show is intense as, i cant wait untill he comes down next year, but really, hes has to headline. BTBAM are terrible (IMHO-talented but meh)
I really hope he doesn't tour with them. Unless they are support.

I've managed to make it to every Dev gig in Melb (I'm so old skoooool ) and I loved them all. Hifi, Corner, whatever.....the last thing I care about is the venue!

I think next years show will be the one I am most looking forward to. Roll on March.

I am pretty sure he only came to Perth once... an SYL show on the SYL album tour. They had sold out of t shirts earlier in the tour.

I went, it was at the lookout.
