That was amazing! I was actually waiting for it, hoping they'd be able to get away with it in the Union Chapel, and then BOOM. I really, really hope they use a crowd shot on the DVD. That reaction is one of those beautiful unscripted things that makes it even better.

What exactly happened? I heard something about an insane crash cymbal, but not much more than that.

EDIT: really digging all of Julaar right now. Especially Ihsahn's parts and the blast (eat your) beets.

What happened was sort of like this: "quiet...quiet...quiet....LOUD!!!!!" Or, just that the crash part way through Watch You was surprisingly loud given how chilled and quiet the rest of the show had been. Everyone in the place pooped a little.

I've listened to the studio version of "Watch You" a lot over the past few months, and I love that part. It's like one loud cymbal crash and a bellow from Devy. I was really hoping he'd do it live, but I thought they wouldn't get away with it in the Union Chapel... I was wrong, thankfully!

Praise the Lowered.
When Dev starts screaming :

AH GIMME THAT WINE ! AND GIMME THAT ACID !
AND I WANNA LOSE EVERYTHING THATS POLICING US, AND THEN EVERYTHING MUST BEGIN!
AND I WANNA DO HEROIN!
AND I WANNA DO CRACK COCAINE!
AND I WANNA LOSE EVERYTHING BUT RELEASE…WHY DON'T YOU JUST:

SMOKE THAT FUCKING WEED BOY !!!

That part is just so fucking evil. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Very contrasting with the beginning where Dev sings in a heavenly voice about being sober and not letting go.
And then all of a sudden : the demon unleashes itself and just screams about losing everything that !
The lyrics are very contrasting (if that is a word) too : HeavenlyDevy sings in a very metaphoric and sorta poetic way while DevilyDevy just screams his ass off about weed, acid, crack cocaine, heroin and wine.

So yeah, that part is my favorite moment at that time.
But it might change in 2 mins if I start listening to anyother song.

It's neat that he played that song after REPEATEDLY telling people on formspring that he didn't want to play SYL anymore. I guess it should shut them up for a while, lol.

It seems to me he's always said that he would play some SYL songs sometime, but there would never be a reunion or any new SYL.

The song Kawaii as a whole...been thinking a lot about how many of my friends are all of a sudden getting married, buying houses, starting families, blah blah etc etc, and how I'm at the age where in just a short time, that could be my reality if I wanted it to be. I feel like i've tapped into that instinctual feeling of wanting to protect something more than myself, because when I have a family, I absolutely want to be able to give the most that I can for them and make life as good as possible, as long as that family exists (because sometimes people die when you least expect it...sad but true). I'm going to do my best now while I'm still single to get as far ahead of the life curve as possible so that when I get a family, they're living great right from the get-go, that way I feel no regrets in case something bad happens. If nothing bad happens, then yep, our life is gonna rock!

I feel like the song Kawaii is the soundtrack to that^ trip I've been on for the last week. I can't say for sure what started that whole thought process, but it's affected me on a pretty deep level for some reason.
