Back to the OP - a bit of bicarb in with the wash will get most inks out, unless it was written with permanent marker in which case you will probably need a bit of bleach. if you just use some dilute bleach topically it should come out nicely and your shirt will be good as new again, and next time you meet Dev you can take a CD or something sensible to sign.

OH WHY ARE HIS BODY MEASUREMENTS NOT ON WIKIPEDIA? *weeps*

Oh, well either I'm taller than I think I am. Or Devin was slouching then standing up straight then slouching then standing up straight, just to screw with me...that bastard...

I might as well contribute to the OP. Yeah I've never had someone sign a shirt, except for way back in Elementary school when at the end of the year we would sign each others blank t-shirts. I've washed one of the shirts a few times and the sharpie hasn't washed out COMPLETELY, but they started to fade. I'd just have musicians sign album booklets but if I do have a shirt on at the moment, then what the heck? I'd have em' sign that too. It'd be cool to wear it around just for a little while, if it fades, you still have the booklet. (Although this of course depends on how many things they can sign.)

Well hey now, you're assuming that this happened consensually. Maybe Dev was running around signing everything in his wake and the OP's shirt was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

... why would you purposely try to remove the signature?

well yeah, he even took the shirt off to keep it from the phantom touch of Dev's Sharpie, but Dev's wise to that shit. He's been doing this sort of thing for years now. No garment is safe went he gets his autograph jones on.
All the more reason for us to find a way out of this predicament for the OP. After his mother might well be mightily aggrieved when she sees someone has defaced her offspring's garb (I have to confess I almost wrote 'his mom might be mighty pissed' just then but caught myself just in time. I think I need to spend a few nights away from the internets and read some Sherlock Holmes).

Abbath surprised me by autographing my Immortal shirt while I was wearing it, on the design, and I haven't worn it since. Or washed it, for that matter. That was... 2008?
I'd imagine the same would be with Dev. Although if you could lacquer it (or whatever the process is) that should preseve the signature from washing and drying.
