The place to speak about Dev's current projects, and everything yet to come

Although maybe my favorite, I agree that Decon demands attention when it's on, I can't let it just be background, whereas the other 3 I can. I would probably just attribute that to the flow of the albums, Decon is obviously more technical, and has so much going on that you have to listen, and the other three are more melodic/steady beats etc

That's cool to hear new people getting into Dev's music because of the DTP. The difference of opinions of them should be expected based on the extreme diversity of the albums. For me, the Dev version of "pop" works to an extent, but I've been into his music since City came out, and from that found albums like Ocean machine through Terria to be my favorites. So I think it's natural for me to be more into Deconstruction, or songs from Addicted like They way Home for example, over Universe in a Ball.

But seriously, I like Universe, just not as much if that makes sense??

I can't agree with Universe in a Ball being the one weak spot on Addicted. I love it to death (despite not being a SYL fan or generally a fan of that kind of fast metal), and the middle section where it ends with the drum fills, Devin yelling what sounds like "shit" (or "shhhhhuh"), and then back in to the "universe in a baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall" part is one of my favorite sections of the entire record.

To me, Addicted has no weak spots, but I do think that Resolve is definitely the least best song. I still like it a lot, but I just like all of the other songs a lot more.

Not going to to lie, first four listens to that song without paying close attention to the vocals I literally thought he said "I've got a little older" Blew my mind around the fifth listen when I clearly heard that.

My humble opinion-

Ki- I have to admit that it's my least favourite of the 4. It's an unusual album ( I usually love unusual). I suppose I find it frustrating that it's stuck in the middle between going heavy or mellow. Still a great album though.

Addicted- Really love the rock element. It's catchy and appealing. Great tracks.... apart from "Universe". Ryan's drumming on this album is nothing short of amazing.

Decon- SYl 2 it isn't and I love it for what it is. I look at it as a more mature version of Dev's back catalogue. Maybe not "more mature" . More like heavy music with a defined purpose.

Ghost- Suprised how different it is to Ki. It's like Devlab goes country with an injection of peace and happiness.

All 4? Love them!!
