I read a review for a Meshuggah album on Amazon where a reviewer compared the band's intensity to that of 3 other bands (or 1 if that band was SYL)...so I poked around on youtube a bit and checked out a few songs (Love & a live version of All Hail The New Flesh)...After that, I DLed City, and it was all history from there!
Of course, the whole chain of bands that I got into and led me to other bands that eventually led to Dev was hearing "Change" by the Deftones on a Dragonball Z movie and then pry again a year later on my city's generic rock radio station...eventually found the album that song came from, which led to this and that and this and that, to Meshuggah, and then Dev.
Pretty crazy, the thin line of events that led me into enjoying the music that I do enjoy. Oh well, that's life
