Personally, If Devin and Patton never worked together, it would please me to no end. I can't stand Mike Patton. Actually, let me rephrase that: I can't stand what Mike Patton has become. I thought he was great in Mr. Bungle and FTM years ago, but every time he opens his mouth anymore I want to punch someone, and not in the good "metal" way, either.

I'm not sure why that is. I can't pinpoint it. I just know that when I hear or see him lately, I get violent.

Devin + Nils Frykdahl. Nils is the founder of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and Idiot Flesh which has been doing its own thing long before Patton. And I'm pretty sure Patton recognizes them as an influence.

Recently a friend showed me sleepytime gorilla museum (the same one who introduced me to dev funnily enough) A song called Angle of Repose, I've slowly been listening to more of them. I love the song hymn to the Morning Star. Nils has an amazing voice, but who would sing? perhaps both

Angle of Repose is awesome. Check out Phthisis if you like Carla's singing. Eventually you should come to love most if not every song. I'm sure you know Donkey Headed Adversary of Humanity (the song that immediately follows Hymn).

But both could sing! Nils does backup a lot in sleepy. It would be cool to hear devin's voice with nils' deep tones.

Great idea! And they are battling each other because Dethklok is "the best band of the Earth"... Skwisgaar vs. Ziltoid guitar duel, Pickles vs. Ziltoid's drum machine... Very cool option for a Gene/Devin-collaboration avoiding the "SYL-reunion?"-hassle.
