I should also point out that pretty much every song on Ocean Machine has lyrics that touch me in some way. For the most part though, I don't think Devin is a great lyricist, he just makes the lyrics powerful because he sings them so damn well. I think the lyrics to "Deadhead", for example, would seem pretty cringe-worthy in the hands of a less talented vocalist, but Devin makes it into the most awesome thing ever.

Lyrics from "Love?" are the best. Whole song is just amazing. From this record I started discovering Mr Townsend's art and I still have shivers down my spine while listening to this shit. Devin, you're the man !!!!

For me its also the way Dev let's the words come out, such a powerful exponent.
