re last post and its Physicist musings, and in the risk of straying further from this thread's original threadiness, i love that album, sorta, didn't dev say somewhere that he was thinking of re-recording it??

That being said, I am really looking forward to Ghost. Terria is my favorite Devin album so I really like his more mellow stuff.

this one reminds that more than anything how you see 'Heavy' is totally subjective, ive always felt that Terria is heavy as hell! Its awesome that people see it so differently to me.

Re which album i'm keener for? Decon prob, although if he Enyas and Mazzy Stars up for Ghost, could be tight.

I can see that. For me, it is less "heavy" than the majority of his work. Deep Peace is probably my all time favorite Dev song and if Ghost sounds anything like the first half of that song, I will be happy.

I'm looking forward to listening to both albums back to back, just to hear how they complement each other as Devin has promised.
Then again, I'm looking foward to hearing the entire project in sequence. The heaviness of Deconstruction I want because I can jump into a chaotic mindset without blinking, but I'll bet Ghost will hypnotize me just as eaily - The Hummer certainly does.

I'm looking forward to both equally. However, what I am most looking forward to is to what comes after these 4 projects are out of Dev's system. After these 4 different sides of Devin are represented, will what come after be a complete amalgamation? Will one style start to dominate more now that it has been explored more in depth? Hmmmm.....

Oooor, will they all flow together simultaniously through the next Ziltoid album? Oh the possibilities.

Im still really into heavy stuff, so apart of me is looking forward to Decon the most, but I have a feeling that Ghost will be a very special album that I will love for many many years.

hehe, agreed! :D

I feel the same way too.
I can't say what I anticipate more, I just want them all.
And the albums feel like they need to be the way they are, together they wouldn't be the universe of awesomeness if something was done differently.

I think for me they will "make sense" after the set is completed.
And it's like with the Harry Potter's, you can't jump the books or you'll miss out

Ok, so my point being that I am looking forward the next in line.
Now Decon, after that, it's Ghost or Z2 or whatever Dev pops out next!

any idea about who are Dev's major ambient ( / electronic music ) influences ??? .... if we consider that Ghost is going to be an ambient record ...

He's mentioned Enya as an influence before. Makes sense, as this ambient record will also (as mentioned) have New Age interspersed throughout.
