Sometimes that's done really strangely. Like with Metallica's "Frantic" where they cut like two bars worth of riff here and there. I reckon around 30 seconds were cut in total. What's the point?

MTV standards I guess..If you want your song played, it can't be too long. That's what happened with Love?.

Acually SYL were saying it had nothing to do with MTV, they just thought the song sounded better without the part they cut. Cutting a song to make it a single always sucks, I don't even think it makes sense. I mean if you cut something from a song it's not the same song, A song is as long as it needs to be, you can't force it without hurting it. So in closing MTV sucks.
