I have been watching Steve Vai since his Alcatrazz days. (I never noticed him in the Zappa days)
He is such a great player and the guy has come soooo far in his career.
And now the news about the track that Devy has allowed Steve to contribute to Devy's new disk? This is certainly an honor and another mile-stone in his Steve's great career.
Personally, I'd be OK if Devy let Steve be the full-time rythm guitarist in "DTB". Devy could focus more writing, singing and production and let Steve handle some of the palying. Devy could even sometimes let Steve have a solo or two.
On second thought,...I don't think Steve would be quite THAT lucky.
But again,...I'm so very happy for Steve Vai. Just when you think he can't go any further,....He somehow seems to keep doing even better for himself!
Bravo Steve!
