Except Death already has an album with that name.

So? It really doesnt matter at all, does it? He can name it whatever he wants, it is his music.

I cant wait for Synchestra and HUMMER. HUMMER sounds really interesting, and i loved Devlab, so i am very happy with this. And the sereneness sounds so cool, i love the happy vibes that Devin's music gives off. And i also love how evil and scary Devlab was.

that live clip of imperial that's floating about shows that syl started their show with info dump. i'm beginning to think the album would have been even MORE awesome if it started with that track, but i'm sure the initial reaction from fans etc would not have been as favorable, to put it politely

I'm not against Devlab and Info Dump, which I find interresting, but my opinion is that Info Dump is just a way to make the album appear LONGER...which is a kind of trick, no? I mean, if you want to get Strappinged, the total running time of SYL is shorter than the one of the cd itself...
Lots of people must want albums that last more than 30 minutes or so...it's just an illusion even though we, the hardcore fans, can find interrest in this kind of experiment...
I still think that Info Dump is cool but has no place on ALIEN...I never listen to it, but it doesn't annoy me that the album ends this way.
If I want to listen to this kind of music, I prefer Devlab, wait for the HUMMER or listen to things like ASHRA TEMPEL

Love Info Dump, love Devlab. The way Dev has explanied it, Info Dump deffinatly has a place on Alien, and I'm damn glad it is. Just my two cents.

Info Dump reminds me of the "sort of" ending to Fear Factory's Archetype, Ascension - ignoring School of course.

In a way it's a cool way of winding down the album because it stops the last "proper" song being concluded by the whir of your CD player stopping.

Given the underground nature of most artists who put out nothing but that kind of thing, respect must be given to Dev (and Fear Factory!) for having the balls to slap an ambient industrial track on a metal album.

I think Info Dump's perhaps a tad long but I guess it's supposed to build up slowly on purpose and I love that gritty female screaming at the very end... evil stuff

Has anyone thought of mixing / playing at the same time Alien and Devlab? Kinda like Neurosis / Tribes of Neurot? I know its not been designed like that, but it might produce some cool results.

Think I'll get onto that sometime soon!

Okay try...

Info Dump and at the same time:

Devlab tracks 13, 15, 1 then 2.

The drums on track 1 phase in and out with the distorted pulse of Info Dump and sounds bloody crazy!

Then just let Devlab carry on cos it's top!

Worth a go if you can be bothered.

Wait wait are you saying play info dump at the same time as those tracks? how on earth did you come up with that idea? not that it wouldn't sound cool I've no idea, but still....
