I think it's his strongest production with best clarity, best overall tone, intensely detailed mix and the new addition to his production pallette (the immense sub drops that have appeared on Devlab and Alien) is wonderful.... So how are you all feeling on this?

Wellllll I fucked up the poll thing and it won't let me change it so just vote for the other records if you think they sound cooler!

Okay, everybody, all together now: Joey Fucked Up!!

If you can name the reference, you probably wore back patches on your jean jacket.

I'm not sure if this leaked version of the record is the final mix yet, so I'm not going to vote until the official record is released.

Yeah, calling "Alien" his best production judging from ripped mp3s is a bit... silly.

Yeah I second that, let´s wait with stuff like this until it has been properly released.

It doesn't take a proper version for me to tell this. Just listen to the clarity of the drums, the kickin subs, the crisp vocals.... Maybe i just have better ears than you, who know.......................

Maybe, I never was good at solfege :S
Ok, let me rephrase... From what I heard on Shitstorm, this sounds like an amazingly good production, even better than City. But let us not forget about Devlab, come on, if that's not an awesome production I don't know what is.
I will agree with you that it's the best Strapping production ever, but the best Devin production...hmm... I can't say that it is, one of THE best maybe.

Alien boasts the wall of sound and is well done especially considering the sheer amount of information going on, but Terria is the epitome of perfect production, with every single nuance processed, eq'd and mixed perfectly. Terria is my reference album for just about everything I do short of black metal.

i got my copy of Alien from Century Media.... so....

Yeah Alien is a greatly produced album, loud, in your face, clear, and thunderous. but Terria gets my vote.

I'm guessing that they both turned out exactly what he had anticipated. Therefore I'll go with Terria. Just more dynamics and versatility. The ambience is a great touch.

i haven't heard all the albums by dev but i got my copy of alien over the weekend from century media (pre-order) and holy heavy and sub bass...i thought my speakers were going to explode cause it is so heavy and chaotic (in a good way). So alien get's my vote for now. As far as syl "songwriting" i think it's there best cd ever!!!
