Hey guys.

I was gonna post this on the SYL board, but I figured I would get better answers here.

Does anyone use Fruity Loops here? I just got it and it's pretty fun to tinker around with, but I'm looking for a little more. I want to be able to get pretty proficient in FL. Does anyone have any tutorials/tutorial sites that can get me started?

Or maybe sites that'll have tips and downloads for FL, such as these VSTi things that I'm hearing about..

Thanks.

Oh and if you use FL, and have songs that you made, I'd love to here them!

i have it for dicking around on but the regi code i had ran out and i can't get a new one cause it was *cough* cracked *cough* but i just downloaded the HUGE guide manual in PDF, but what i mostly did was come up with the song and record them with a sound recorder (AUDACITY) and live mixed them whilst playing them

I have the full version on my computer, all i used it for was drums but now i have come across a better program for drums. Its kinda a oddly set out program, once you use it it would get easier, i havent read anything as of a manual. with my midi keyboard it responds a little too slow. i have sonar 6 and it does good midi keyboard work!

i did this pretty straightofrward but unfinished one-man-band cover of "hide nowhere" from ocean machine using the fruityloops trial version, and soundforge 6.0

http://www.talkingmeat.com/travtemp/tra ... e_mix1.mp3

drums and synth sequenced in fruityloops, mixed (not tracked) in soundforge

i can't claim to sing that well but the point is you can get shit done in fruityloops

Been using FL Studio for three years now, just recently strayed from the pure electronic tracks and am mainly using it for sequencing and drum programming for regular rock stuff

Very well done man.., that was prolly the the best cover version of a devy song i've heard that stays very true to the original but brings its own character. Also the vocals were flawless too.

I have used fl studio for both my ambient projects and everything else I have worked on. Fl studio's website should have all you need. For me at least, when I first had fl studio I was in your position. After about 2 years I can safely say I know more than the average user. But I suspect you want to learn faster than 2 years.

I actually used Fruity Loops to create the percussion, bass, and synth in my Things Beyond Things cover. The program is simple and complex to use at the same time. Even though it's really easy to pick up and make a song, you definitely have to sit down and learn all the ins and outs in order to touch into it's full potential.

I have about 60 FL songs. I plan on putting out an album but the fact that its such an easy program and that I dont know shit about composing music without it makes me feel discouraged.

I am quite experienced in it. Some folks in the Unofficial HDR Chatroom on IRC has heard some of my stuff

By the way, that cover of Hide Nowhere is fucking awesome. Thats 2 covers of that song this week I've heard and both are fucking flawless. Good job :D
