Haha, well, on my demos, everything is digital, there is actually no real frequencys there, i ran it straight through my digital effects pedal straight into tools, thats why i call em demos, coz i dont really spend that much time on them and try and do everything as quickly as possible. Have you tried just pushing the distortion on the plugins , then just using a nice EQ on them? like i use focusrite ones....once i pulld a mean sound from a crappy practice amp, say if you micd it up in a corner, or in a sort of cubboard/closet sized room, have it facing the door, i used 2 57's and a sonyC48 for a room mic (i doubt you could get one of those tho! i dont have access to them anymore too*sob*) all in all it was all micd up in a little room like 4x4foot, the amp was low so you didnt really 'know' what it was...well it sounded better, but yeah, it sux being in a situation like that. Also my amp is a FenderPro 185, 185watt, combo 12". and yes, it has balls the size of elephants.
