Well, the question is in the title.
I want to generate a huge bass drop to use as a sound in a video game I'm moding (Dawn of War), but I don't know anything about music software.

Should I use something like fruityloops or acid pro whatever ?

Any idea of some free equivalent (or an equivalent-wanabe  ), as for now I just need a bass drop^^.

(BTW, quick question, any of you would try doing voice-acting for the mod ? It's not out yet, and the army is mostly made of women (Sisters of Battle, some fanatical warrior-sisters), but we'll need a few male voices anyway (genetically enhanced warrior, inquisitor...), so if you have some decent equipment/recording ability, and a strong, charismatic voice, well tell me and I'll create another topic, or by PM in due time)

Hei falk,., There is a free audio editing recording interface i think you could get a lot of use from. Its called audacity see the link below. You'll also be able to edit those bassdrops with it if they dont quite sound how you want them.

Audacity here.

If you need any help using it by all means pm me. :) [/url]

Thanks for the samples Josiah.
Though I need a different bass drop. More like the one in Zodiac, at 0'40", something like "BROOOMMMMmmm..." to fit with the explosion going on^^

Tren > I have an old version of Sound Forge (4.5), is this one ok ?
Anyway I have really limited knowledge about sound, so I may probably fuck up whatever I would edit :P (just like with picture editing, you can't stretch a picture too much or mess with the aliasing or things like that, well for sounds I don't the basics of what to do and what not todo)
