I was browsing the ESP page (guitar porn...) and came across some pics of the lads' new tools. I hadn't seen them mentioned here, so here goes. The Devin one is very similar to the Stephen Carpenter signature one he was using before, so apparently he really liked that one.

That Jed one is certainly sexy. I wouldn't mind seeing the exact specs and one with a neck pickup

Yeah, it's a twelve string, and does seem to be by/for Mustaine, though the page (
http://www.espguitars.com/customshop_gallery.html) doesn't give any additional info. Gotta admit it looks very unplayable

Also look at the way the low strings are grouped in pairs on that 8-string baritone, just like on a 12-string. You could get some insane power chords there by tuning it creatively

So, Dev starts off his career playing black ESPs, (Vai, "black and look like Satan", if I remember the quote correctly), and is still playing black ESPs....for varied music the man plays, he sure knows what to play through.

Emg707s would be warmer and have a little more bite as they are active. But i'm with you on the magic of invaders they are the greatest sounding passive pick-up available in my opinion. I couldnt live without my invader loaded 6 string.
