Just out of interest, could anyone compile a list of Devin's guitars? any other information on the guitars would also be great. I'm just curious as to what all of the guitars he owns are. I can recall:

Black "pre-lawsuit" ESP Explorer
brown-red burst "Yin-Yang" sticker Fender strat
Black Stephen Carpenter LTD 7-string
Natural Stephen Carpenter LTD 7-string baritone
Shiny Grey LTD Explorer
I also think I've seen a white telecaster-style guitar, and others that I forgot

There must be a lot more that he has owned.

As mentioned above, he also has a Gibson SG with an EMG in the bridge position

He also had a White ESP Explorer he used around Physicist and occasionally for SYL.

He has a buncha Fender Strats, in addition to some sunbursts he has a green one.

He had black/natural/3 tone burst SRC 7 Strings

He used a couple LTD EX351s around the self titled SYL (one grey, one black tuned drop D for Detox)

That tele you're talking about is a custom ESP Ron Wood Tele with EMG pickups installed-he used that around Infinity most I believe...maybe even a bit on OM. He also had a quilted top model of that too that he used occasionally, I've seen pics of him using it on old sets for Happy Camper.

That EBMM Axis you see in the Alien DVD was not used on the album at all, that's just a guitar Dev messes around with occasionally. The recording for the album was done completely with a Gibson Les Paul Custom fit with EMG pickups, both Dev and Jed used the same LP.

Isn't he getting an 8 string as well?

The black Les Paul with Emg's is actually Beav's, they borrowed it cause it sounds so damn good.

That's actually a japanese model ESP, not the LTD stephen carpenter signature model. you can find it on the japanese ESP site.

Just watched the Synchestra dvd last nite, his yin-yang strat is BEAUTIFUL!
The finish looks like the "fireglo" colour that you often get on Rickenbackers. The pearloid scratchplate seems to go with it too, bizarrely!

Yeah, well, he said he was going to get ESP to make him one in Total Guitar magazine.

I think that finish is called Sierra Sunburst...?

Regardless, it's a Fender American Fat Strat, if you look em up on eBay you can usually find some.

Yeah, I hear they tried those 7 strings but the LP just ended up having the tone they were looking for.

He did use that guitar as the main recording instrument for Synchestra though, I think. He at least wrote most of the record on it.

OH-forgot to mention

if you look closely on the Synchestra DVD you can see a PRS sitting around in the background.

I believe the PRS is Genes. Devin mentioned it a while ago, said he wishes he could afford one.
