I'm on the look for a good sampler for live performance. I'm not looking for too top of the line but one of above average quality with *most* bells and whistles like sampling mics.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

heys guys,
i was gonna start a thread asking the same thing when i stumbled across this.

just wondering if youse had any luck getting set up with a sampler for your live work and if you, or any one on the forum, could advise me on any decent makes/products.
at the minute im using my 4track minidisc recorder with a pedal to stop/start the track. the samples are only being used as intros to the songs for which i only require a start/stop control, but id like a machine that can fast forward to another track to play elsewhere in the song. do any products allow this to be done remotely (by pedals) while playing guitar or whatever?

i dont even know where to start looking ...or what to look for.

help.

One of my top recommends is one of the old akai electribe samplers. They have great editing features for realtime sound improvment/destruction and also come with an onboard squencer. Memory wise they run on smartmedia cards the larger old kind but they are still very available.

Full spec there,. i've been using one of these for about 5 years and its still amazing me with its brilliance.

Pricewise they got for a little over $100 on ebay.
