It sounds good! I love the tone i get from the EMGs, and i don't think that they are influenced by wood a whole lot anyway. So the sound i get is close to other guitars with emgs. The quality is about what i expected. I bought a carvin neck so the action and playability are fantastic. I also like the tuners and bridge i got for it. (All off the Stewart MacDonald website.) I am having issues with the switch i bought so i am investing in a new one.

IMHO, you get what you put in when you decide to make one.

I Finished building my guiar last year. i made a 6 string "Axe" guitar (axe shaped). i used some random wood from lowes, a neck from a lefty guitar, electronics from the same lefty, and i bought the bridge and tuners. it came along nucely i would say and the hardest part was connecting the electronics. but i hope yours came out nicely. mine rocks and is tuned in open c. i am gonna try to get some pictures
