Is this referencing me?

I rather resent that comment if it does, it is just a simple opinion of what I liked and disliked at the time of writing, which bearing in mind is quite a while a go now and I of course had not gone through all of Seymour Duncan's pickup arsenal and was in fact rather new to whole pickup upgrade thing. Now being a little older and a little wiser I have sampled a fair few of the pickups on offer and my opinion has changed and so I would be grateful if those kinds of comments would be reserved for when they were absolutely necessary.

Naturally I still the hold the utmost respect, its just not nice to read such things being said about yourself when you said something which was a long time ago so I felt I had to make my point.

For those of you interested I ended up using a pair di'marzios in the les paul, a d-sonic and an air norton if I remember correctly, last I heard my friend had sold it.

no no no, I was talking about Fanboyism in general. People that love one type of brand just because it's what they own and put down another even if they have never even used or tried it themselves.
No offense

Oh right, then my mistake, sorry

No offence taken, I hope I did not cause any.

With regards to the les paul, it was an interesting sound certainly, my friend seemed to like it, but obviously not enough as he sold it.

I wish I'd bought it to be honest.

I'm thinking about putting a Bareknuckle Nailbomb in the bridge of my Les Paul 8)

If you do please please post some A/B clips. I am really on the brink of swapping the PUs in my Les Paul. On one hand I really want to keep it original sounding (only thing I have done is removed the pickup covers), and it's a pretty awesome metal guitar coupled with a powerball. But I am wondering how awesome it can sound with some chunky pickups.
It's the guitar in this video, you can hear the tone OK (aside from the crap mic on the camera) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLuGZfJl4FQ

Yeah I definitely will, can't guarantee when it'll be though, I've got some cashflow issues to address before I manage it

I'll see what I can drum up though.

Well it's my last day with it today, it gets sent off its new owner tomorrow *sigh*

Getting rid of it has made me quite depressed :(

I want some new pickups as well. I've been reading about the EMG 81/85's everywhere, but I want passives. And I have no idea where to start, so I'm gonna look here for advice :p Playing on an Ibanez S520EX through a Pod XT, almost exclusively metal.

Can't go wrong with a Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz combo.

Seymour Duncan SH-4 for bridge pos and Seymour Duncan SH-2 for neck pos? Honestly I think I'm just gonna go with those since there's really no way to find out what pickups are right for me. Could only find one shop in Norway that sells them though, damn small country!

Yup, that's the usual way to do it. It's a winning formula, tried and tested.
