I am hoping to start Tabbing Songs soon, I have a program I heard about Called "Amazing Slow Downer" I Plan on using that to slow down some easy songs, Not to quick, So I can try and just build up my hearing senses for the notes. Im slowly learning the pitch to all the notes etc, So I can tab by ear. Ive only been playing guitar about a year and a half, But I want to start trying some easy and not too techincal songs... See how i go

I did have the Idea for Bring on the Young. Does anyone have any Other Song Suggestions which sound easy to tab out? Whether Dev or SYL. Preferable in CGCGCE

Thanks - rob

Skeksis haha just kidding.

Greetings from OM perhaps? I've just started learning that by ear a few weeks ago actually, wasn't that complicated to me. Down and Under, Canada, and Mountain are what comes to me when it comes to easy tabbing.

Lady Helen is not a hard song to tab, Or Shine, Thats not tooo hard, but only if you kinda know how Devin uses shit in strapping, when you have Looked at alot of his tabs you will see patterns.

Playing for a year and a half? Stick to standard tuning man. Dont get sucked up into open tunings so early on.

I have two guitars, one i bought recently for standard, ive been playing slayer, joe satriani, steve vai and rammstein on the standard on, i can play the opening tapping like to building the church from vai, i simply mention that out of pride :P but anyway, ive been playing in open C since i started, first song i ever learnt was Love? Cant play anything on guitar xD but just sat down with the tab and love for this song and just played it mega slow, and just bulit up, then when i got most of love out the way (only part i couldnt do was the tremolo picking at the time) i moved on.

I find open C to be easier and better to play with, string tension wise and overall deeper tune, i really enjoy it

What sort of patterns? i can play quite a few SYL songs, havent noticed anything...I was totaling up the number of songs i can play few weeks ago, hit 110 now :) 50 of which are dev and syl. some really fun tracks when played. but i havent seen syl patterns :P

Of course it's going to seem "easier" but there's really no "easy" tunings. I'm just kind of tired of seeing a lot of Dev worshipers clinging to Open C tuning because he uses it. Yes it's a fun tuning and yes you can write some cool stuff with it, but it feels very limiting because of the repeating intervals in the strings. I typically play in drop tunings, but never really open tunings.

Well I had always planned to purchase several guitars for different tunings at the moment i just had the two, A Black one i use for some low tuned work, Gorjira, Dev (open C and B).

and The second standard guitar, i some times tune down slightly dropped for Behemoth and I currently have it set to a 7-String tuning xD AEADGB No top E xD just so i can play Some Ron Jarzombek stuff that doesnt use alot of the bottom E that'll sound alright xD works for me until i can afford a 7, but i was gonna wait, Once i can play Wrong side sweeps i will of considered myself worthy of a 7-string and quick enough for more of Rons work. (and yes i know before you say, its not all about speed, trust me ive got fluidity covered too :) )

I started in Open Because of Dev yes, But im not clinging too it out of some homeage, hense ^^ the aforementioned tuning up and down for other artists :P

Oh BTW, Your Video helped me learn Almost again, Thank you :P Check your youtube inbox, Keep making them awesome videos and keep wearing that T-shirt of win from the Veil of Maya video :D
