The JB is just such a typical sounding pickup...seems now-a-day everyone either runs emg 81s or Seymour JBS in their guitars...just very typical.
The Dimazrio Air Zones are pretty damn nice pickups as well...nice bit of bite to them but a ton of headroom to really push your tone out there. Page Hamilton swears by um' that is good enough for me!

Well then, slight update on mah guitar situation. I got the Seymour Duncan JB and Jazz pickups in mah Ibanez S520EX yesterday, and the outcome was a bit different than I expected. When palm muting, there is like 30% of the punch I had with my old stock Infinity pickups. Which kinda sucks, but I can make up with it by putting on a tube screamer or something on my Pod. But... The clarity with these pickups is amazing, it's not muddy and it doesn't have that annoying "twang" sound I got with the stock pickups. Not to mention the clean sound with the neck pickup, it cannot be described with words how awesome it is. I am going to try learn some calmer songs, maybe a few from Opeth's Damnation just because of how sexy the clean sound is.

Just an opinion here. I've used EMG 81/85, 707s (modded after the 85) and 808s (modded after the 85) and the one guitar I keep playing more than the others is the one equipped with the SD JB and jazz pickups. The sound is just inspiring and makes playing a lot more enjoyable.
