I dunno... I'm still kinda shook up about the crappy Line 6 Variax.
I just want a guitar that sounds great thanks to the way it's build. I'd pick a Fender relic before this new VG anyday.
The tuning knob is kinda weird though. If you don't need to re-tune your guitar to a different tuning, wouldn't you still hear standard tuning when playing acoustic? I dunno, but that would bug the hell out of me.
For 3600 dollars, get a nice Fender Custom Strat or Tele; better sound and worth the money. I'd choose a Gibson Les Paul before the humbucker setting on the VG anyday... but then again, I am a guitar geek.

You have a fair point, for the same money you could get a very, very nice guitar (as you said).

And the Variax is something of a disappointment. I had completely forgotten about that.

I love this guitar. Tried it out with a Peavey JSX the other day at a Guitar Center and it just sounds awesome, especially the twelve string acoustic mode. Good stuff

By the way, it retails for $1600, not $3600. Well, it does in the US at least, I guess it could be different in other countries?
