one thing about that part i´d like to know:
most of the songs i compose have 1 guitar line and 1 bass line, but they´re usually doing counterpoints and all kinds of stuff that aren´t in unison or exact harmony (as in "the notes not having the same lenght and being played at the same time").

Should i still leave the guitar tones with little low end?

Well, one thing you don't want is your guitar tone changing from song to song. So the best would really be to try with various tones and see how it sounds. When recording stuff, you will go nuts during mastering at the latest if your recordings have too much low and and frequencies from various instruments, in this case, bass drum, bass guitar and bass heavy guitar are in the same domain. It's gonna sound like shit because you hear no distinction between the instruments, let alone the different notes.

IMO, even in cases like you described, attempt to fatten the guitar sound with two guitar tracks and leave the bass doing the low end.

thanks man :)
too bad i don't have too much room for experimenting, cause i don't play the guitar or the bass :P
but still, i tend to do this kind of "inversion of papers", most of my leads are given by the bass, so i tend to make it stick out on the high end a bit more (just check my HDAS song that sounds like crap cause it's all sampled  ), so i was wondering if i had to do the opposite with the guitars.

Here's my setup:

Jackson JS30KE, with EMG-81s in bridge and neck
»
Boss NS-2
»
Peavey 5150 (with the settings I previously mentioned)
»
(fx loop out)
»
Rocktron Hush Super C
»
BBE 362
»
Roland GP-100 (for fx)
»
(fx loop in)

I also control my GP-100 with an FC-200 MIDI controller, which is insanely handy. You can hear a bit of what that setup sounds like on the track I submitted for the HDAS compilation. My track is number 11: "Adrift" - Dreamwalker. That recording was my first foray into professional recording, and now that I have a full-time design job, I'm saving up for a sweet Pro-Tools rig so I can really dive in. I LOVE engineering/producing. I could spend days doing that.

Anyway, that's my setup. And speaking of my job, I better get to bed so I can get at least 7 hours of sleep in tonight so I'm not completely drained for Friday Night Magic. Goodnight, people.
