My sister gave me a birthday present once that was oddly-shaped. It turned out to be a toddler's backpack in the shape of a cute bear. Inside was an Immortal CD. If that's not inventive. :P

Dunk it in a bucked of gooey slimy stuff and wrap that. Or pour it in some cement. Wrap it in lots of gaffa tape. Anything that's hard or nasty to retrieve presents from.

Why did they have to go and change Youtube's look for the worse? :|

- White background instead of previous very light grey: more strain on your eyes
- video title under the video player screen -> video is even nearer the very top of the page
- new layout causes video screen to be more to the left: nitpicking I know, but just looks odd
- comments no longer divided into numbered pages, but instead uses the oh-so-trendy infinite scrolling (i.e. has only "show more comments" button): while it's okay for a few dozen pages, it's absolutely horrible when dealing with hundreds or thousands of comments on a video

Already sent a couple of feedbacks to them. Hope they come to their senses for at least the comments.

^They're probably trying to appeal to the iPhone, "we scroll everything" crowd. I agree, it's pretty stupid, the old format was better.

Only thing I really care about in the new design is my subscriptions. Now I'm being told what I "should" watch. Yeah sure youtube, thanks. 99% of those videos are something the channels I've subscribed to released a year ago. Thanks.

Do you guys now if I can set a default "home page" in youtube? To see the newest videos my channels have made?

Try this:

http://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions/u

Also, there aren't options for sorting search results by upload date in the interface any more, but adding "&search_sort=video_date_uploaded" to the end of the search URL still works. e.g.

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=videos&search_query=devin+townsend&search_sort=video_date_uploaded

Thanks :D That's so simple and genius. I replaced the old .com bookmark with that upper link.
