New random thought of tonight - Last night I babysat this little 3 year old boy next door: his parents said I could put some music on for him, so I saw they had Darkside of the Moon, and I put it on. The little kid loved Money so much that he danced to it the whole time, and asked me to play it again. It's an amazing sight to see a self-unaware 3 year old dance in 7/4 to a song as old as his parents.
Aw - so cute! Not an easy time signature to dance to either. I used to dance to Sparks 'Something for the Girl with Everything' when I was little. Youth knows no shame!
Ha yeah it was a precious moment, and I'm really not a kid person. They're fine, but when you're 21, the last thing you want to be doing is watching after a small child. But this was really fun to see - and to think I was worried that the CD might be a little scary or weird for a little kid. Wrong.

I agree!! I wish I was exposed to cooler stuff when I was little, as I listened to really embarrassing stuff in my youth as well! However, a lot of kids grow up listening to parents' music, and older music - and when they become teens, they hate everything their parents listen to and try to find contemporary music to like to fit in and all that shit.
It's an over generalization, but that's how lots of youths rebel - by casting off their parents influence and trying to establish their own. The point to all that was - perhaps if you didn't start liking cool stuff at a later date and had heard it as a child, you might not have an appreciation for it like you do now???
Just a guess. I know that's probably the case with me
