Devin Townsend made a cameo in my dream last night. It was something about spilling a bunch of beads on the ground, and he just walked by and offered to help pick them up. And he picked up beads with me and chatted for a bit. He said something about Ki being 'scary' though, I don't know what he meant by that.

Oh, but he was wearing white overalls in the dream, which was pretty unfortunate. Love him, but hate white overalls.

Maybe he was about to paint something???

The dream was freakin awesome. i tried to go back to sleep when i woke up to keep the dream going, but at that point my conscious mind was making it up

But I have reasons not to like Ghost Reveries, I've listened to it plenty to be able to form a proper judgement. Production is crap, guitars sound way too metalcorish for Opeth, songwriting is average, balance is off, growly vocals are too monotonous. Add it up and you get an Opeth-unworthy album.

I think you have error in your calculations, probably somewhere between perfectly scientificably measurable indicators like "guitar metalcoreness" or "songwriting goodness".

Fortunately, Completely Objective Labs hired by me measured all required parameters and issued a certificate that guitars aren't metalcore at all, songwriting is ace and balance is just right.

For some reason I thought I posted this but turns out I didn't. I found 3 Schecter guitars on sale on a Norwegian online guitar shop. A Schecter Omen, Demon and Tempest Extreme. From first to last the prices were 1900-2300 NOK. I was really tempted to buy one as I want a 6-string in Open C, but then I found out they were all out of stock. Not sure if I'm relieved as I would feel like a whore with three guitars when I suck, or whether I'm disappointed.

I've been thinking a lot about bizarre applications of advanced genetic manipulation (I'm thinking of writing a short story about it). And it occurs that if you gene-spliced a human with a tree you could have a 'poet-tree' and it could say:

'I think that I shall never see
A thing as lovely as me'

Now if that doesn't belong in the random thoughts section I don't know what does.

I really hope Devin does one proper interview or even better, some sort of commentary of the new albums after they are released.

Random - and I learned a new euphemism for something. I don't know what, but I have my suspicions.

I was just thinking about special powers the other day -

As cool as being able to fly would be, I think one runs the danger of getting bored with it once the novelty wears off? And the novelty would wear off, it's human nature. I suppose you run the risk of that happening with any special power though.

However, I still wish I could fly. And second to that,

it'd be really cool to be able to freeze time and everything around you, but not be frozen yourself. If a problem presents itself, freeze time, figure something out and come back to it prepared. You think someone's a bitch? Freeze time, pull down their pants, draw all over their face, put cockroaches in their underwear... whatever - and then resume time as usual. Think of the possibilities!!!

Drawbacks aside, that would be a cool power to have.
