Congratulations!

This should be in the un-awesome thread but: I've needed braces my entire life just could never afford them.

But they're all the rage right now! Would you deprive your son of eventual waves of screeching vampire fangirls?

All well and good but the drawback is that it protrudes considerably and cuts his lip on a regular basis and I think makes him self conscious about smiling. :|

Oh, yes - that's not good at all! :(

+1

At the end of summer I'm gonna see what I can do about it...call around. I've been puttin it off way too long. I say end of summer because the last thing I want right now is a mouth full of pain while trying to pass trig, cuz I know they'll look around in there and want to start digging into all my cavities.

I was there! Right up front!

I was actually looking for you but I couldn't find anyone carrying an 8-string around.

You might have seen me without recognizing me, since I cut my hair short (dont know if i've posted pics here or not).

Damn, same here. I'm 28 and the teeth are not so badly placed, but I feel the damn teeth are still moving slowly, giving me maw ache from time to time.
I've heard stuff about new technics, applying less constraints on the teeth (basically if you push a tooth (with regular braces), the bone kind of tries to counter the pressure, while if you apply a soft pressure, the bone doesn't react that way, well that's what I've been told, maybe it's just crap to sell braces costing twice the regular price. Not even talking about the plastic removable ones which are even more expensive).
But I have tinnitus and already had a neck-ache once (not mentioning my collarbone joint popping out from time to time), so it's a really sensible area and I really don't have much faith in doctors, they really rush the work sometime but always make you pay FULL price.

I don't know for how long I've had my braces, but it's been more than 10 years now I'm sure. Still going strong.

Just completed my last final exam for my last academic class ever.

Yeah I "graduated" but I still had this class and some studio time left over summer before they'll allow me my degree.

Studio time, heeeeere I coooome.

Article about Orl's little brother... I may not be a part of the family but in the nearly five years I've been around I've come to love the little guy and this is probably one of the greatest things I've ever seen. Some bit of light at the end of an otherwise very dark tunnel for the poor fella.

I am scared to death by crane flies. It is a phobia or something. Normally you could drive me nuts by holding a crane fly, dead or alive, at me (and my friends have done that to me). I have always thought there's no way of getting over it. But today, alas while I was having a moment of depersonalization, I saw a dead crane fly and I realized that in that state I wasn't afraid of it. I could pick it up with my hand and stare at it. Then a similar green insect came flying around and I tried to catch it in my hand. Normally that would have had me freaked out too.
