The Illusionist. Nicely crafted little mystery. Not difficult to see how it will end but there were some well done little twists en route. Left with a smile.

Last night I watched an animated film called "Renaissance". Set in Paris in the year 2054, it was a cyberpunky thriller sort of thingy.

The animation was nothing short of stunning, but the actual film was a bit poor. It might be better with a second watch, but I was slightly dissapointed as it seemed more like a showcase for the rather unusual animation style.

The Island

Bad. Not worth watching. The first 30 minutes are quite interesting but then it start getting worse and worse. Jesus Christ, it was made by same guy who directed transfomes!!! Why did I watch it?

The Prestige. 8/10
Great movie with great acting. The whole movie felt like a magic trick - it always held my attention. Can't imagine this is a movie you can watch more than once, though, unless you're a huge Hugh Jackman/Christian Bale fan.

Tenacious D The Pick of Destiny 7/10
Good movie. Could've been better... especially the music. I liked the rock off with Satan. "I am complete!" "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck"

I think I need to watch that again just to get my head round it! I definately agree on the film itself feeling like a magic trick. The whole thing was a bit of a headfuck. Reminded me of Fight Club in that sense. Very good though.

Ok, now I'm sure, Scarlet Johanson must have made my head spin. I didn't find that movie that bad at all. It's just classic Hollyrollypolly.

Hmm. I think I might catch 300 tonight. Looks amazing.

I went in expecting to dislike The Island but I'm with Goat... it wasn't too bad at all.
