there were about a dozen of us arrested without charge, i'm sure it was just to show the police were doing something. Now for these "regional" events they're replacing it with....

I remember playing a gig in Leipzig in 1991 with Dave Angel and we were the only non-Germans in the hall and he was definitely the only non-white, and there were about 2000 of them and 2 of us, although we had the advantage of being 20 foot or so above them. I lost two teeth in that altercation when someone rammed me in the face with a scaffolding pole.

Actually to be fair there were probably only about 100-200 or so hardcore nazis and 3 or 4 guys who were really ringleading the violence: older guys with loudhailers and serious agendas. But it was terrifying how quickly they turned the crowd to their side and absolutely terrifying to be on a stage surrounded by a couple of thousand people swept up by mob hysteria throwing the sieg heil and baying for your blood. We defended our scaffolding fortress by whacking anyone who climbed up with flightcases and fire extinguishers until the police came and escorted us out.

There have been some skinhead uprisings out in my hometown, which I guess must be just reaction to the hippies who run the community, but man I wish I had those kind of balls.

I'm sorry to double post, but I suppose this shows my ignorance, as I've never been outside of the US (though I've been all over this country which is many subcultures in and of itself).

I think every country has it. There's also the English Defence League, which seems to be the BNP's more militantly active wing, officially or otherwise, violently protesting and counterprotesting.
