Just about everything seems to cause cancer these days. It's ridiculous. If you have to believe the newspapers and stuff, you ARE going to die from cancer. Or, if you don't eat things that cause cancer, starvation.

We live in a fear-driven society. Newspapers and other media publish results from investigations and draw incorrect conclusions.
"If someone drinks 15 gallons of milk a day, the chance of him getting cancer is 25% higher than usual!!!12!!OMG" stuff like that.
1: Who drinks 15 gallons of milk a day?
2: 25% is nothing, it's just a deviation cause by the test subjects being not completely average persons, and the number of subjects being seriously limited.
Example: the chance that smokers get lung-cancer is 2500% larger than for non-smokers. Those are meaningfull numbers.

Just trying to comfort you, things are not as bad as they appear to be.
The large number of cancer patients of the last years is due to other diseases being marked 'cancer' (leukaemia for instance), an increased number of successfull diagnoses (people used to die of unknown stuff half a century back; possibly cancer in a lot of cases) and the earths magnetic field turning around.
