It's warm enough here for water pistol fights (30c yesterday), so I've loaded up the guns and I'm about to head outside with the boy. Just me, a 2 1/2 year old, 10 acres and an obscene tactical disadvantage. Should be fun.

A girl I know from Twitter just asked me if I was free to knit on Monday morning in Waterloo, I said "ah fuck it sure.". Turns out we'll be showing Russell Howard how to knit. Uh.

I went to the doctor about a pain in my right ear and found I had the beginnings of an inner ear infection. Good thing I caught it early and got some antibiotic drops.

^That sucks, sorry to hear that. :( Hope it clears up quickly.

I'm the fucking happiest happy camper right now. With all that's happened, my life is wonderful right now. I wouldn't change anything that's happened because it's all brought me to this point. Life is looking good, and I've never been more aware of myself and who I want to be. :)

That's mad shit, reminds me of the SikTh video Bland Street Bloom. There's an abandoned mental asylum down the road from me that'd fit in perfectly on that list, it was an awesome place to explore cause it's huge and totally deserted with stuff still in there along with it's massive labyrinth of underground tunnels (there's a trapdoor hidden in the woods nearby, we'd break into them to get to the building) but since it suffered fire damage there's security onsite which sucks dicks cause it's been fenced up for demolition and redevelopment for decades, I went there with some mates to do a photoshoot in Feb and we...got caught. Luckily there were three of us girls in the group and we cried enough for him not to call the old bill. Google Cane Hill Asylum and check out pics of it!!

On an unrelated note, I just realised I spent the past two months thinking leprechauns existed because a (Irish) friend of mine explained to me a very...scientific and historical sounding story about them (being a some kind of lost, pygmy-like nocturnal tribe closely related to homo sapien), I just had to ask if it was true. I'm not terribly bright.

Cool, I'll have a look.

I've often imagined how amazing it would be to explore in and around Chernobyl.

If one could avoid the radiation poisoning and the tumors and such.

I think people are allowed to go on tours near Chernobyl but they're not supposed to...last I heard, a construction company were contracted to bury it in concrete like, 10 years ago?

A friend and I were just talking about this yesterday. How trees grow even if there's a man made structure in the way. "Fuck you man-made structure! I'm gonna grow around you!"

Yeah as much as I'd enjoy it I also like being alive so not going there seems like the wisest choice.

That being said I have incredibly venomous snakes and spiders in the yard (brothers in law had to "remove" several deadly snakes from next door recently), so I guess I shouldn't even go outside.

^I've been curious about something related to that.. I believe I've heard mention from different sources that there are very large spiders in Australia. If that's actually the case, do you ever see them?

When it's warm, yes. Mostly smaller ones but on occasion big ones. They like my bathroom, for some reason. That said, I saw a couple in Byron Bay (closer to where Juz lives) last year that put these ones to shame. I'm not sure what species they are, but pretty sure they can and do eat birds.
