Fixed it for you! :D To embed YouTube vids, you click on BBCodes and select Youtube from the dropdown. Then all you need is the video ID. HTH!

Also, this was actually a subject I've been thinking a lot about recently and the importance of having people around who understand, who can support you WHILE you support them. I went on holiday with some friends the other week, one of them I have known for years and I usually talk to her every day because she's just such a funny girl and invited her along even though she didn't know anyone else because I love her company and knew everyone else would. While we were around a table in a bar, she told them how everything in her life is shit, her job's shit, her family are shit, she's constantly having anxiety attacks; but the best part of her day is when I call because I remind her that there's someone there. I had no idea how important the phonecalls were, but something as simple as a light-hearted conversation every now and then can keep someone going, I know because they've kept me going as well. Obviously it's not as simple as "be nice and be happy", but knowing the right ways to support your peers can make such a positive impact on their lives as well as your own.

Violet, you're absolutely right. A few weeks ago my neighbor was having a depressive breakdown. I decided rather than walk past and leaving her crying in the doorway, to talk to her and listen if she needed to vent. The other day our paths crossed and she thanked me for doing so, saying she felt a lot better because I stopped to listen without judging her. It helped that I also shared a little about my own struggles, just to show that she wasn't alone in feeling like the world was against her. Goes to show even a small act of empathy can be positive for someone you barely even know.

And now Lauren Bacall has passed, albeit from natural causes. RIP.

I don't remember if I've mentioned this already, but I just get it why update KB2952664 pops up in Windows Update's list of important updates month after month, despite me always hiding it.

All it does is make one's Windows 7 ready for updating into Windows 8 (and has apparently cause freezing and crashing for some). I have no idea who could have come up with this. Who on earth would want to downgrade from Windows 7?

Get Linux! If you want. It's entirely up to you.

Lubuntu is awesome!

I experienced Windows 8 for the first time not long ago. IT WAS HIDEOUS. :o

Not that I have much against Windows 8 per se, it's mostly that I just don't get Microsoft's reasoning behind making it a big mess of desktop and touchscreen functionalities all smashed together. And ditching tried and tested features like the start menu, though that's changed in 8.1.
It would have been nice if there was an option in the control panel to easily switch desktop and touchscreen optimized modes (and individual features of those). At the present it's a chore to configure the OS for non-touchscreen use.

I'm currently on a Windows 7 laptop myself, but I went through that hassle when I set up my dad's new Windows 8 laptop earlier this year. Classic Shell goes a long way into making Win 8 better for those accustomed to the classic Windows versions, but for example, you still have to change all the default file type associations by hand. They're all mostly set to use the Metro apps, and if you want nothing to do those, you have to change the default programs one by one. So far my dad's been happy with Windows 8.

I'm running out of time, patience, and by the apparent string of unsuccessful applications and interviews in my wake, jobs to apply for.
I've also elected not to apply for welfare as my CV also shows viable career experience. Unfortunately, I might have to consider it if this bullshit continues.

Unsuccessful job applications can be a wretched experience. Infinitely more so when you're out of work. I hope you find something very soon.
