That's not how it works. It's the other way around, swine flu chooses you!

Honestly, that sounds kind of boring. Maybe it's just me, but Opeth's music has always been on the simple side. You write a riff, you repeat it about 32 times, then you move on to the next one. I don't like Opeth because they're complex and layered (because, well, they aren't), but because of the intensity and the (admittedly predictable) contrast. Åkerfeldt's essentially going to do a folk album now. Great. I'll get ready to wish I was listening to something else. The album's only saving grace might be some tasteful low-gain solos. Oh, and if it's like Damnation, fuck it. That was a mediocre album if ever there was one.

Not to detract from your post, but I just can't get excited about an Åkerfeldt folk album. That said, I'll have to hear it before I actually pass judgment on it. Maybe he'll surprise me.

I've just never thought of Opeth that way. I've always thought they were an exemplary death metal band who mixes styles well. Instead of your usual "trem pick at 2607 bpm" death metal, they at least do something tasteful.

True but they do repeat their riffs about 32 times. Listen the grand conjuration for instance.

Apparently I can get money for doing an internship abroad. They could've told me sooner, but I think I'll manage to arrange all that before I depart in a week.

Also, I start with 2 days off because the plant will be closed.

I was bored in the train station and my ex came in. Desperate for an excuse to avoid 'em, I decided to chat with this guy wearing a rather aged Strapping shirt. Turned out he was old school, pre-forums and had a wealth of knowledge deeper than any wiki I've ever seen. As a bonus, dude had this anecdote about Dev and a cat box...
